Field Studio was founded in 2017 by photographer Jerry Birchfield, emerging from his deep engagement with the arts and his precise, considered approach to photography. Soon after, Joseph Minek joined the team as a digital imaging specialist and photographer. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Field Studio serves fine art clients across the Great Lakes region. With backgrounds in visual art and teaching combined with extensive experience in art and exhibition documentation, we bring a thoughtful and collaborative approach to every project.

Our clients include Abattoir, the Akron Art Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the CWRU Putnam Collection, FRONT International, James Cohan, Marlborough Contemporary, MOCA Cleveland, Rowdy Meadow, Shaheen Modern and Contemporary Art, and Transformer Station. Our work has appeared in An American City: Volume II, Artforum, ARTnews, E-flux, Frieze, Hyperallergic, The New York Times, Oh, Gods of Dust and Rainbows, Vitamin C: Clay and Ceramic in Contemporary Art, and The Wall Street Journal, reflecting our commitment to supporting artists and cultural producers through the images we create.
