Field Studio was founded in 2017 by artist and photographer Jerry Birchfield, emerging from his deep engagement with the arts and his precise, considered approach to photography. Soon after, Joseph Minek joined the team as a digital imaging specialist and photographer. Based in Cleveland, Ohio, Field Studio serves fine art clients across the Great Lakes region. With backgrounds in visual art and teaching combined with extensive experience in art and exhibition documentation, we bring a thoughtful and collaborative approach to every project.

Clients include Abattoir, the Akron Art Museum, Allen Memorial Art Museum, the Cleveland Museum of Art, James Cohan, Lehmann Maupin, Marlborough Contemporary, MOCA Cleveland, The Sculpture Center, and Transformer Station. Field Studio photographed the majority of exhibitions for the 2018 and 2022 FRONT International: Cleveland Triennial for Contemporary Art catalogs and recently completed a large-scale photography project for inclusion in the Art in Nature: Rowdy Meadow Sculpture Park book published by Monacelli in the Spring of 2026. Our work has appeared in Artforum, ARTnews, e-flux, Frieze, Hyperallergic, and The New York Times, reflecting our commitment to supporting artists and cultural producers through the images we create.
